SYMPHYSODON sp. photos

These photos were obtained from a recent trip to Malaysia. A local representative from the Kuala Lumpur Discus Association provided a tour of his facilities, breeding stock and surrounding farms.
He specialised in high quality Red Pearls, Blue Diamonds, Cobalt Blues and Pigeon Blood Discus.
During peak periods my company would import and distribute approximately 300 discus ranging from 6cm to 15cm every 4-6weeks.
The stock from several Malaysian breeders and this one in particular would nearly always arrive in perfect condition, without stress patterns and possessing such gorgeous colouration.

PH: 6.0
TEMP: 28c

Feeding was predominantly with frozen blood worms however the flaw to importing fully coloured juvenile fish is that their diet overseas consisted of hormone induced foods hence continuation of good quality colour enhancing food was an important recommendation to my customers here to maintain their vibrant colour patterns.
